Hello Olivia,
I’m happy you feel positive when you look at this.
I guess what I am saying here through the painting’s name is there are many false hearts one has to sometimes go through to get to the core of the real and sincere one which is the smallest green one in the center of the much larger false hearts.
The same pertains to life.
Some of us fall in love easy and realize that the other person isn’t actually what we thought and it’s so nice to finally find a loving sincere person who means what they say when in a relationship when we do finally conect with them.
I hope the definition of this painting is more understanding to what i was trying to get at with the name, now that I’ve explained it a bit better.
Wishing you a great evening!
Lydia
Hello Olivia,
Sometimes the smallest things in ones life are actually the best things in our lives, where the big things are not. Instead some of the larger things in our lives(weather it be possesions or something else) can end up causing more burden and take up too much energy and space instead of creating comfort and happiness. Sometimes it’s best to live a simple way of life and enjoy peace and quiet.
In this painting the very small heart represents the true feelings of the small heart (simple, introverted, reclusive), over shadowed by the larger more screaming and out there selfish hearts(public, extroverted, over exagerated).
To me and my daughter I chose drab colors.
She actually told me she hates everything about this one, especially the larger hearts cause the painting looks depressing to her. When I asked her if she wanted this one, she refused it.
I describe the very large hearts as selfish for hogging the most space on the canvas, but it is the smallest heart that truly speaks out on the canvas.
It is strange how different people can have many interpretation of one piece depending on the individual and how they view the compostition.
This is what makes art so great, it’s other’s view of a compostition.
Wishing you a great evening,
Lydia
Hello Olivia,
Thank you.
I don’t mind that she does not like it. I know everyone looks at things differently. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What one person sees as beautiful, a different person looks at the same thing and may not agree. I have always accepted that in design, art ect……..
Wishing you a wonderful day,
Lydia
Dear Lydia,
I find these hearts beautiful, the soft colors and shapes.
Although you named this painting “false hearts”, to me they are “soft hearts”.
Blessings

Yes, I understand now.
The small green heart in the center is the one with true love.
These hearts remind me of the Russian “matriouchka” puppets, one stapeled inside the other, and as you unravel them, they get smaller and smaller.
Wishing you a good week, dear Lydia, as Valentine’s Day is approaching.
I will show your heart “Release/LibĂ©ration” with a poem on Friday, and three more of your heart series on Sunday in the article of “Saint-Valentin”.
Blessings

You are right,
there are many interpretations to a work of art.
I am sorry that your daughter does not want/like this painting. I like it a lot.
